Your finances are ascending — earning easier, doors opening, the increase visible. Use the bright season correctly: not to coast, and not to start measuring. "Am I growing fast enough?" is the ego's sunrise trap — the ledger initiates doubt, doubt initiates grasping, and grasping costs the steady judgement real growth flows from. Brighten what makes the money instead; the sun rises by being the sun. Mind the two shadowed lines. Hamster-progress (line 4): using good times to hoard advantage, stuff private stores, over-accumulate in the dark — daylight audits that. And line 6's horns: aggressive money moves are legitimate only against your own faults — your overspending, your bad habits — never as raids on the market to force more.
Progress in Money
Money and finances
Your finances are rising — advance steadily, without keeping score.
Use this interpretation for finances, resources, spending, security, and material stewardship.
Hexagram 35 in money means genuine advance: the sun rising over the earth — income growing, net worth climbing, opportunity multiplying. Progress here is a by-product; it comes not from grasping at gains but from steadily brightening what earns them — your skill, your discipline, your value. Keep tending that, and the financial climb continues by itself.
Even in a rising season the climb has hard passages, and this hexagram names them honestly. Progress turned back (line 1): income that stalls at the start, a raise or client not yet extended — through no fault of yours. Stay calm and generous; steadfastness earns the confidence not yet given, and anger only blocks the inner progress still available. Progress in sorrow (line 2): advancing alone, the support you need absent. Don't buy relief at the price of principle — the desperate deal, the loan on bad terms, the corner cut. Endured rightly, the lean stretch ends with line 3's accord: the right help falls in beside you, and the climb stops being solitary.
The money shadow is the ego at sunrise: taking personal credit for a bull market, converting gains into entitlement and appetite, resting on a good year while expecting it to keep accruing. Watch scorekeeping above all — every small win and loss tallied nightly (line 5 releases you: take neither to heart; the wide view is where real growth lives). And never advance by financial aggression in a good season; greed and reckless raids spend in one bad bet what the sunrise took months to gather.
The six lines in money
Progressing, yet turned back
The raise or gain stalls; confidence not yet extended. Stay calm and generous — steadfastness now earns the trust that hasn't arrived.
Progressing in sorrow
Advancing alone, needed support absent. Don't trade your principles for a quick fix; the gentle help arrives in its own time.
All are in accord
The isolation lifts — allies, partners, or opportunities align with your aim. Stop dwelling on past shortfalls; let the accord carry its share.
Progress like a hamster
Hoarding advantage in the good times — over-accumulating, indulging, filling private stores. Daylight audits this; return to the open, honest path.
Take not gain and loss to heart
Release the nightly ledger entirely. Freed from tallying each tick, everything you undertake prospers, and the wide view returns.
Progress with lowered horns
Force is legitimate only against your own money faults — your overspending, your excuses. Correct your side briefly; never raid the market to force more.
Am I brightening what earns the money — or just measuring what I've made?
What am I quietly hoarding in a good season that daylight would question?
Where has a run of good returns turned into entitlement I haven't noticed?
